Professor Yim and her team (Shinyoung Kim, Haeun Chung, Sunyoung Kim, Minji Kang, Yujin Lee) won the Excellence Award at the 1st Speech and Language Therapy Materials Contest, which was held by the Korean Association of Speech-Language Pathologists with Hakjisa. Members developed a working memory-based intervention tool kit 'Tap Tap', which features a variety of activities that will help to improve children's working memory and language abilities.

PhD student Wonjeong Park has been selected for the 2019 Global PhD fellowship project under the supervision of Dr. Yim. This project was first implemented in 2011 and it is a national major talent training program that helps PhD students attend graduate schools in Korea while concentrating on their studies and research without having to worry about tuition and living expenses.

The annual convention of Korean Academy of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology was held on Sep. 15th. 9 posters were presented and the topics covered preschool language development and bilingual language development. This year, 3 out of 9 posters were based on the student project outcomes, which were done in professor Yim's class in last spring semester, Communication in culturally and linguistically diverse children class.
